I've been trying to find out if the victim is of Mexican ancestry, but none of the news reports are saying.

  Huh I don't know. The article mentions a cousin with the name "Maria", so I suppose it is possible. (Not to infer that only those of Hispanic descent can be named Maria.)

Something else that I think is interesting is that this is the only 'media' report I have seen or heard about this. I tend to fall asleep before the late evening news and am ususally too busy with dinner or lunch to watch the noon or early evening news. Maybe it has been reported during one of those times and I just missed it, but it seems like with all the "hullaballoo" about suspected cases, confirmed cases, etc., that there would have been more tv reports about this death.
