I struggled with that question for quite a few years myself. I had read a lot of articles on all sides. Some may disagree with me but what really solidified my belief in a pretrib rapture was that I could see satan setting up a mass deception which involved the disappearance of millions of people. I first learned about a new age belief that the next stage of human evolution was that people would evolve into spirit beings. Then I learned how some had been contacted by "aliens" and warned of a mass abduction about to happen soon on the Earth. My thought is this. If there is no pretrib rapture why is the devil trying so hard to deceive the multitudes into the belief in UFOS etc.
Here are two articles I posted on this forum. The first one has actual quotes of people that have been contacted by "aliens" Notice how some of the language is taken right out of the bible. Twinkling of an eye etc.

There are many who fear Dec 21st 2012 will be the end of the world. 2012 Is It The End? Check out this video to see what the Bible has to say on the subject.

That's what matters most.
Whether a person believes or doesn't believe in a pre-trib rapture isn't going to stop God's plan for our future nor will it prevent a saved person from being with Christ throughout eternity and that's all that matters.

This is a subject that has to take the Bible as whole into consideration.
Once you get a lay out of the whole Bible then the pre-trib rapture fits like a glove so it will take much time to outline our position.
I'm sorry it was late when I saw this or I could give you more of my views but I can give you some links so you can research the material and we'll be happy to discuss this further.

Thank you for your response
I read your links, and I found them both interesting
To me they seem like a thoery, by all means a plausible one
I didnt see anything that stands as truth, just possiblility

None the less very interesting to read, and somethings to consider

No problem , glad to see you with us on the board.
I've been really busy and haven't been able to keep up lately.
I should have some time to post a few items tomorrow to show why I believe in a pre-trib rapture and some points to why I believe a post or a mid trib rapture isn't feasible.
I'm not going to knock you for your beliefs or even if you find my beliefs on the rapture non-acceptable because these aren't essential for salvation although I do believe that having all true doctrine is important.
I find that if I get one item wrong , it does create other errors in other areas so it's important to hold dear all that is true.

Ty for your reply
I read you the links you posted

I would like to make it clear that I couldnt care less
when the rapture is, but I do seek the Truth in all things

Certinly pretrib rapture is a possiblilty
I dont get the same message as that author did
However I wouldnt say he is wrong for sure

My main question about pretrib rapture
is why would God come back for His bride twice?

In the parable of the 10 virgins, 5 were taken, and 5 were left

I think that parable makes it clear that if your not ready when
He comes, you you will be left

please help me understand why He would return a 2nd time?

This will lead to a series of posts. If you have any questions then please ask.

Matthew 25:10-12 (KJV)
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

First I would like to say that oil is symbolic of the Holy Spirit.
Those without oil were void of the Holy Spirit so these virgins were not saved.
Only those that had the indwelling Holy Spirit entered into the marriage with the Bridegroom , which is Christ.

The unsaved virgins were left behind and are the tares plunked and cast into the fire in Matthew chapter 13 and Matthew 24 when one is taken and one is left. The ones that are left will remain with Christ during the millennial kingdom. , when Christ comes back to establish the Millennial Kingdom , here on earth , at His second coming. Let's not confuse the Rapture with the second coming because these are 2 separate events.
